Indonesian Fixer is a film-video production support company offering comprehensive services for foreign productions working in Indonesia, with a particular focus and expertise in the documentary film genre. In addition to full-scale production support, we also specialized in providing fixer services for foreign journalist/media teams—in television and broadcasting—who are conducting broadcast journalistic assignments across the country.
Since 2000, we have built strong professional relationships and networks across the film, media, and journalism industries in Indonesia. Over the years, we have supported numerous international film-video productions, helping them achieve success while saving both time and costs. Our in-depth knowledge of local resources, regulations, and service providers enables us to deliver tailored solutions across various requests and budget levels. Masrur Jamaluddin Ahmad, called Jamal, is the driving element behind Indonesian Fixer. With a distinguished career spanning 27 years as a journalist and documentary filmmaker, he embodies the roles of researcher, writer, producer, director, location manager (field producer) and fixer. His keen sensitivity to current issues and events empowers him to dig deep to find the heart of a story, bringing it to life through compelling and powerful documentaries.
His parts of creative works have received awards include Best Documentary at the New York Film Festival, the Media Award from UNEP & UNDP in Kathmandu Nepal, the Broadcast Journalism Competition in the Netherlands, the Long Documentary Script Competition from the Jan Vrijman Fund & Jiffest Jakarta, the International Citizen Media Award in Bennohaus Germany, the Best Election Documentary Award from USAID-INTERNEWS in Jakarta, and Best Television Documentary from the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) in Manila, Philippines.
